With all the hype surrounding Jay-Z’s $20 million Samsung/Magna Carta Holy Grail deal, let’s throw it back to 2003 and remember that this isn’t the first time Jay has released an album in conjunction with a cellphone company. Back in 2003, when Jay recorded The Black Album, he made a deal with Nokia to pre-load the now classic album and true-tones onto limited edition versions of the Nokia 3300 phone- which they called “The Black Phone”. Registered users of the phone would also receive weekly text and voice messages from the rapper himself.

Puma Simone Presents:: "I am working on a new project"

I have been saying that quite a bit since I “started working on my new project.” I guess it sounds sophisticated, but its a new phrase in my verbal arsenal. Prior I might have said mixtape or album, or just “something” but I think moving amongst other artists, intellectuals, writers, and…

19 Warning Signs That You Might Be An Entrepreneur
The line between insanity and entrepreneurship is razor thin (and at times, non-existent).  Envisioning a world that no one else sees can accurately describe both camps.  In order to construct this new reality, entrepreneurs are often forfeiting a 9-5 job, steady paycheck, and comfortable living quarters in the process, while their version of “normal” is anything but. The most important Start-Up Company in America
While watching YouTube earlier this week at 3am, i came across a video titled “America’s Most important start-up?”. So I did what anyone would’ve done at 3am, I watched the hour long video.
The video was a walk through of a place in San Francisco called TechShop. TechShop is basically a DIY Shop class. Think shop class in High School but on steroids. TechShop gives the average Joe all the tools necessary to design and manufacture almost ANY product you can think of.
What started out in San Francisco is now located in North Carolina, Washington D.C, Pittsburgh, Detroit and soon Brooklyn.
The founder speaking in the video even went on to mention how a few people used TechShop to launch companies that went on to be acquired for $20 million
TechShop gives innovative people the tools to open small businesses and sell products they themselves conceptualized and made, in America. You have an idea for a small widget you thought would be cool to make? Make it.
The business model is based off of a club membership model so every member has access to the same machinery. The collaborative atmosphere, access to 3-D printers and other professional machines is well worth the cost. Of course, you have to take a few classes before you use any of the equipment, and a variety of classes are offered throughout the week.
Is TechShop the most important start-up in America? Companies make technological leaps everyday in all aspects of the world. On the manufacturing front, TechShop without a doubt deserves to be on that conversation.
